About me

About me

Why a seasoned DJ has open Saturdays in wedding season.

Short answer: I just got here.

I've been DJing weddings for 12 years, more than 620 of them, from 70-guest barn ceremonies to 300-guest ballrooms. For the last three years I've run Milwaukee Soundworks, my wedding DJ company in Wisconsin with a perfect 5-star rating on Google.

This fall my family and I moved to Houston to be closer to relatives. Here's the lucky part: Texas wedding season is Wisconsin's off-season. So while Houston DJs' calendars are filling up, mine is wide open through May.

So for my first Houston season I'm keeping it simple. If your DJ fell through, I'll step in at a rate built to earn your review, not to take advantage of a bad week. Fifteen weddings at $1,900. After that, my regular rate.

We had such a great experience with DJ Said for our wedding! He did an amazing job keeping the energy going throughout the entire night, and our dance floor was packed the whole time. He really knew how to read the crowd and played a great mix of music that kept everyone—from our friends to our family—out on the dance floor. So many of our guests commented on how much they loved the music and how great the DJ was. He was professional, easy to work with, and helped make the reception such a fun and memorable part of our wedding day. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ and would absolutely recommend DJ Said to anyone looking for a wedding DJ!

★★★★★
Said was the DJ for our wedding this past weekend and did an incredible job. He was professional, friendly, and had a relaxed energy that my family and I all appreciated. He took the time to understand our music tastes/requests - when the cocktail hour playlist I had created ran out of songs, he seamlessly tacked on some more songs that I also loved! I would 100% recommend Said for friends and family in the future.

DJ Said from the beginning was so easy to work with. His communication is top-notch and he listened to all of our ideas and he gave us specific advice. At the wedding, he absolutely crushed everything. He made everything so simple and easy and even checked in with our officiant to make sure he was OK for the day. During the reception, he absolutely knocked it out of the park with his mixing skills of the songs and taking some of the bride and grooms suggestions. The dance floor was busy all night thanks to him. Literally thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything!!! Roucka wedding 7/18/26

Call (414) 551-1239
Why only $1,900 when other Houston DJs charge more?

Because I'm new here. I have years of weddings behind me but no Houston reviews yet, and an open calendar. The intro rate trades a lower price for your trust and, if I earn it, your review. Once 15 founding dates are booked, the rate goes to $2,400.

What's the catch?

There isn't one. $1,900 covers your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, up to 6 hours, with everything listed on this page. Add-ons are there only if you want them, and I won't pitch them on the call.

Do I have to prove my DJ cancelled?

No. Whether your DJ cancelled, went quiet or you're just booking late, the rate is the same.

How fast can you lock in my date?

Usually the same day. If your date is open I'll tell you on the call, then send a one-page agreement. A $500 deposit holds the date and the balance is due [7 days] before the wedding. For weddings inside two weeks, we'll settle everything at booking.

My wedding is really soon. Is it too late?

Not necessarily. One planning call covers everything I need. If the date is open and you're in the Houston area, call me rather than filling out a form.

What if something happens to you on the day?

I bring a complete backup system to every wedding. For a personal emergency, I have [a backup DJ arrangement with a Houston colleague], and you'll get their name in your agreement.

Can you MC in Spanish?

Yes.I'm half Puerto Rican and half Palestinian. I can run the whole night in English, in fluent Spanish, or move between the two so both sides of the family feel at home.

Where do you travel?

Anywhere within about 60 miles of Houston, including Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Galveston, Pearland and Conroe. Beyond that there's a travel fee, and I'll tell you what it is upfront.

Do you carry insurance?

[Yes. I carry $1M general liability and can send your venue a certificate of insurance the same day.I can also list specific companies on our policy.
